History
Joe began his career in tax preparation in August of 2004. The experience he would gain over the next 14 years working for a small tax, accounting and financial services firm would lay the foundation for the creation of Simplify Tax. Simplify Tax was created on October 2nd, 2018 and opened its doors just 3 months later ready to start the new tax filing season. It was decided very early on that Simplify Tax would focus on individual income tax preparation serving primarily law enforcement and the self-employed. The vast majority of Simplify Tax clients are either active or retired law enforcement from Federal, State, County, and City agencies. Law enforcement and the self-employed have special circumstances within the tax code that generally lead to a more complex tax return than the average individual. Over 20 years of working primarily with clients in these two groups has positioned Simplify Tax to be uniquely suited to serve these individuals.

Joe Webb
Joe was born in Houston, Texas and grew up in the Spring-Klein area. After graduating from Klein High School, Joe was accepted to Texas A&M University where he would go on to complete his undergraduate degree in Industrial Distribution. Upon completing his school Joe moved to Denver, Colorado where he spent the next 6 years in the semiconductor industry. In 2002 Joe, his wife, and their newly born son returned to Houston where Joe briefly worked for an insurance and financial services firm. After his time in financial services, Joe went to work as a tax professional for the next 14 years for a family owned and operated tax, accounting and financial firm that specialized in law enforcement. In 2018, Joe and his wife, Joanne, decided they would open the doors to their own tax service and Simplify Tax was born. Joe and Joanne have a son and daughter and currently live in Cypress.

Joanne Webb
With almost 30 years of experience in office management, communication and client relations, Joanne is the organizational backbone of our firm. She manages daily administrative operations—scheduling appointments, coordinating tax documents, handling payments, and overseeing staff hiring—while ensuring the office functions seamlessly. Known for her personable approach and dedication to service, Joanne provides a welcoming and dependable experience for clients, prospective clients, and business partners alike.
Outside the office, Joanne is a proud mother of two and an active member of several Texas A&M Aggie Mom Clubs. She loves supporting her youngest, who is part of the Fightin Texas Aggie Band, and enjoys being involved in the Aggie community. Her commitment to family, community and service shines through in everything she does.
